Introduction

When I first started using a Haier washing machine in Korea, all the buttons and labels were in Korean and it looked confusing. After a few experiments I learned the exact steps to use the spin-only function (νƒˆμˆ˜) — a quick, energy-saving method I now use almost every time.

This is a common Haier top-load model. The important Korean words to know:

  • 세탁 (setak) = Wash
  • ν—Ήκ΅Ό (heng-gum) = Rinse
  • νƒˆμˆ˜ (tal-su) = Spin
  • ν”„λ‘œκ·Έλž¨ = Program / Mode selector
  • μ‹œμž‘ / μΌμ‹œμ •μ§€ = Start / Pause
